Egress window sill height
IRC R310.2.3Description
The bottom of the emergency-escape-and-rescue opening must be ≤44" above the finished floor.
Why this exists
44" is the chair-aided sill height a typical adult can hoist over from inside; higher and escape becomes impossible without help.
