Terms of Use

Plain-language terms for using Almost an Architect during beta.

The short version

Almost an Architect is a test design app, free during beta. The app produces design suggestions and conceptual floor plans — not construction documents and not architectural advice. You assume the risk of acting on anything produced here. Run every plan past a licensed architect, contractor, or local building authority before building.

What the app is

A web app that explores residential floor plans through a chat with simulated architect personas, a curated catalog of starter plans, and a modification engine. Outputs include schematic floor plans, room dimensions, optional cost ranges, and optional exterior renderings.

What the app is not

  • Not a licensed architect.
  • Not a substitute for stamped construction documents.
  • Not a guarantee that any output is buildable as-shown.
  • Not a code-compliance check against your jurisdiction.
  • Not legally-binding zoning, structural, or engineering analysis.

AI disclosure

Parts of the app use AI models (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI gpt-image). AI can be wrong, omit critical details, or invent specifics. Treat AI-generated outputs as starting points for human review, never as final answers.

Use, license, intellectual property

Designs, plans, and content you generate using the app are yours to use — for your own home design, exploration, and taking to a licensed professional. The app's source code, UI, and library content are © Almost an Architect.

You agree not to use the app to violate any law, infringe any third-party rights, or attempt to reverse-engineer the underlying AI systems.

Liability

The app is provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential — arising from your use of the app. Your maximum remedy is to stop using the app.

Changes

These terms will be revised when accounts launch and when we move to paid plans. You'll be notified through the app of material changes.
