NKBA Kitchen 5Description
One-cook kitchens need ≥42" of work-aisle width. Two-cook kitchens need ≥48". Walkway aisles outside the work zone need ≥36".
Why this exists
42"/48" lets the cook turn 180° between sink and range without bumping cabinetry; 36" lets a second person pass.
