About this plan
The Bayfield is a 2,160 sqft contemporary on a 36'×30' two-story rectangle. The smallest of our 2-story plans, it's designed for narrow urban lots and avoids the great-room sprawl that dominates suburban farmhouse design.
Downstairs, three articulated public rooms — living at the front, then a hall + powder + pantry through the middle, then kitchen and dining as distinct rectangles at the back — connect via interior open archways. Upstairs, the primary occupies the back of the home full-width-minus-the-WIC; two secondary bedrooms share a bath across the front.
Drawn from the AIA Small Project Awards plan vocabulary. Great for an urban-infill couple, a young family on a tight lot, or anyone who prefers distinct rooms over one big great room. Pairs naturally with a detached garage at the rear of the lot or street parking only.
